On December 13, 2020, at the age of 19 years old, Liam McDuff, son of Alice and Jim McDuff, was taken from us.  A tragic event, witnessed by his friends, and occurred through no fault of his own.

Liam was a 2019 graduate of Catholic High School in New Iberia, a member of the CHS Golf Team and had just finished his third semester at LSU.  He was a member of Theta Xi fraternity and employed by TAF, Tiger Athletic Foundation. Because of Liam’s easy-going personality and quick humor, he was well known and well loved.

As Liam’s birthday approached, his friends knew it would be a difficult time. So they decided to honor him in a way that reflected who he was: fun-loving, inclusive, and full of life. The idea was born — a golf tournament to celebrate Liam.

New Iberia’s finest 19 year olds came together to organize the event. Ideas started flowing – What about a raffle? An auction? T-shirt sales? Parents got involved, and in the midst of everyone’s grief, the First Annual How Ya Livin? Liam McDuff Memorial Golf Tournament was held – and was a huge success.

Today, we are very proud to be hosting the Fifth Annual How Ya Livin? Liam McDuff Memorial Golf Tournament on May 10, 2025 at Cane Row Golf Club,

What will happen to the money raised by the tournament?  Live Like Liam of Iberia, Inc, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, was created and is operated exclusively to benefit educational, athletic, and extra curricular activities or otherwise improve the lives of local youth – in Memory of Liam McDuff.
